The aim of this BTT Electrical Module is to give the participants the knowledge and skills to carry out basic electrical
tasks (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After successfully completing this BTT Electrical module, the participants will have the ability to:

1) Explain the basics of electricity (Knowledge, intermediate level)
2) Explain risks and hazards associated with electrical work (Knowledge, intermediate level)
3) Recognise the function and symbol of electrical components (Knowledge, basic level)
4) Explain the function of different types of sensors (Knowledge, intermediate level)
5) Explain and interpret a simple electrical diagram and perform assembly of it on a circuit (Knowledge,
intermediate level / Skills, intermediate level)
6) Perform correct and safe measurements (Skills, intermediate level)

COURSE CONTENT

Introduction to electricity: Direct current, Ohm’s law, Alternating current, Alternating current/direct current
Electrical safety: Low/high voltage, PE and GFCI/RCD, Stored energy, Static electricity, Safety signs, Types of PPE, The importance of appropriate isolation
Electrical components: Resistors, Batteries, Switches, Contactors, Relays, Diodes, Bridge rectifiers, Capacitors, Transformers.Generators and motors, Fuses and circuit breakers, Processors and control systems
Sensors: Wind sensors, Temperatures, Position sensors, Other sensors

Electrical circuits: Symbols and diagrams, Symbols and diagrams
Electrical measuring instruments: Symbols and settings on electrical instrument, electrical measuring
instruments

This course is designed for individuals seeking foundational knowledge and skills in basic electrical tasks, operating under the supervision of experienced technicians.
