The GWO Basic Safety Training Working at Heights course (and its Refresher version) is designed to provide participants with required knowledge and hands-on skills to work safely and effectively at height in wind turbine environments. This training emphasizes the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fall prevention systems, and rescue techniques relevant to the wind energy sector.

Through a combination of theoretical lessons and scenario-based practical exercises, participants will learn how to identify hazards, prevent falls, and execute safe rescues from height. The course follows official GWO BST WaH training standards, ensuring compliance and readiness for real-world wind turbine operations.

The Refresher version of this course is intended for those who have already completed the full BST WaH module and need to renew their certification according to GWO requirements.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By completing the GWO Basic Safety Training Working at Heights module (or its refresher), participants will be able to:

Follow GWO-compliant procedures for working safely at height and responding effectively to emergencies in remote wind industry settings.

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly, including full-body harnesses, fall arrest lanyards, vertical fall arrest systems, and self-retracting lifelines.

Work safely at height in a wind turbine environment by applying fall prevention principles and recognizing common hazards.

Prevent dropped-object incidents by understanding best practices for securing tools and equipment.

Understand risks and suspension trauma, and take appropriate safety measures to reduce injury.

Perform basic rescues from height in a simulated wind turbine scenario, using industry-standard evacuation kits and techniques.

Demonstrate emergency preparedness, including pre-use inspection, equipment setup, and evacuation procedures.
