The GWO Slinger Signaller (SLS) training course provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and attitude required to perform safe lifting operations in the wind industry. This includes rigging, signalling, and guiding crane operations using industry best practices and standardized lifting plans.
Training is delivered through real-world scenarios, practical exercises, and theoretical sessions to ensure that participants are fully prepared for supervised and routine lifting tasks.
GWO Slinger Signaller (Rigger Signal Person) Course Objectives
After completing the GWO Slinger Signaller / Rigger Signal Person course, participants will be able to:
Recognize hazards and apply safe rigging and signalling techniques
Safely attach and detach loads to crane lifting attachments
Direct crane movements, including blind and limited visibility lifts
Perform pre- and post-use inspections of lifting accessories
Correctly handle and use slings, shackles, and other rigging gear
Apply knowledge of load weight, center of gravity, and shape
Follow lift plans, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with site procedures
Maintain safe lift-off, movement, and lay-down of loads

Detailed hands-on training and practice sessions covering slings, shackles, lifting bags, load attachment points, accessories, crane functions, lifting angles, suspended loads, toolbox talks, signals, and slinging techniques.
