GWO Basic Safety Training First Aid Course Objectives
After completing this GWO Basic Safety Training First Aid module, participants will be able to:
1. Safely apply first aid equipment and perform scenario-based exercises.
2. Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations in WTG environments.
3. Deliver immediate and safe first aid to prevent further injury.
4. Apply the C-A-B-C approach in primary assessment.
5. Manage unresponsive individuals and maintain airways.
6. Administer CPR and use an AED properly.
7. Control external bleeding, treat shock, burns, and chemical injuries.
8. Respond to common industry incidents like fractures, strokes, and hypothermia.
GWO Basic Safety Training First Aid Course Content
1. Management of first aid incidents in WTG environments
2. Primary survey: ‘C’ – A – B – C approach
3. Addressing catastrophic external bleeding
4. Handling unresponsive situations
5. Managing airway obstructions
6. CPR for unresponsive individuals who are not breathing
7. Managing bleeding and shock situations
8. Providing First Aid for Relevant Incidents in industry (burns, chemical contacts to the eye, heart attacks & strokes, hypothermia, fractures, head-to-toe examination)
9. Scenario-based training ( managing incidents, providing necessary lifesaving first aid, correct use of first aid equipment, correct and safe use of an AED)

| GWO Basic Safety Training First Aid Course Participant Prerequisites: The course participants shall be medically fit, appear well-rested, and be capable of fully participating, showing no signs of fatigue, substance abuse, or sickness. The course participant shall have created a personal profile in WINDA, and have provided their WINDA ID prior to completing the GWO training. When attending refresher training, the course participants must do so before the expiry of the previous training record’s validity period. | |
