This Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) Cherry Picker Practical Course provides hands-on training for individuals who operate or supervise MEWPs, such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and cherry pickers. Designed to meet industry safety standards, the course focuses on both theoretical knowledge and real-world practical application.
Participants will learn how to conduct safety checks, assess worksite risks, and operate MEWPs safely in a variety of conditions. The course also emphasizes emergency planning and safe rescue procedures in elevated work environments.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand roles and responsibilities for safe MEWP use
- Apply relevant laws, standards, and regulations (such as LOLER, PUWER, and ISO standards)
- Identify and mitigate workplace risks associated with elevated platforms
- Perform detailed pre-use inspections and stability checks
